English:
Yumbanlol (Yumpanlol) - a 6th century Classical Meitei language copper manuscript/inscription text (in 6 folios/pages) - in traditional Meetei Mayek writing system - works on sensuality & relationship between husbands & wives and didactic works providing instructions on how to run a household in Ancient Kangleipak civilisation state (early Manipur realm).
The Yumbanlol (Yumpanlol) was composed and written as early as the period of 568-658 C.E. Both the language and script of this rare Manipuri manuscript is Meitei. The size of the folios is 13.5 x 2.5 x 0.5 cms. The Yumbanlol (Yumpanlol) can also be spelled as Yumbanlon (Yumpanlon) or Yumballol (Yumpallol) or Yumballon (Yumpallon) or Yumbalol (Yumpalol) or Yumbalon (Yumpalon). This manuscript was possessed by the royal family of Kangleipak (Manipur) but eventually owned by the royal scholars. It was donated by a descendant of that lineage, Mr. Bobby Wahengbam, to the Manipur State Archives. This manuscript was considered so exclusive that those people outside of the royal household were denied access to it.
