Attorney William Smith of Cahirmoyle, Co. Limerick. He married Grace Stevelly who came from a merchant family in Cork. Grace had first married Mr. Garner, a pinmaker in Dublin, who had died in his twenties leaving her with children. She had then married William Smith, and had two daughters, and a son who died young (Charlotte and Harriet). She did not live to see either of her daughters married. Charlotte and her sister Harriet, were co-heiresses of their wealthy father.
