Description
English: Portrait of William Hewer, on canvas, by the English artist Sir Godfrey Kneller. 762 mm x 635 mm. The painting of Hewer was made at the same time as a portrait by Kneller of Hewer's longtime employer and friend Samuel Pepys. Both portraits remained in the possession of the Pepys family until they were acquired by the National Maritime Museum in 1931.
