Summary
Description William Goscombe John (1860-1952) A Boy at Play (c1895) front right (background includes part of Henry Scott Tuke (1858-1929) August Blue (1893-4)), Tate Britain, Dec 2012 (8298889528).png |
Seen in Tate Britain's new "Walk Through British Art: 1890" room. Somebody at Tate seems to have had an unaccustomed rush of sense to the head and placed these artworks in a well-lit room for a change. The object of the game here seems to be to balance on one leg and pick up a peg with the other foot (and then presumably deposit it at a precise spot). By the way, see if you can spot the artist's signature. |
