English:
Afghan soldiers patrol Wadawu valley during Operation Silver Creek in Nuristan province, Aug. 7, 2009. During the operation, Afghan and coalition forces met with local village leaders to address security concerns during the country’s second national election, scheduled for late August. The U.S. soldiers are assigned primarily to the 4th Infantry Division's 2nd Battalion, 77th Filed Artillery Regiment. The U.S. Marines are assigned to the 3rd Marine Division. U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
