English: Elements of Company A, 1st Battalion, 52nd Infantry; the 23rd Engineering Co; and the 87th Chemical Detachment, of the Americal Division, participate in Operation Muscatine, a search and destroy operation against the Vietcong in the Binh Son and Son Thinh Districts of the Quang-Ngai Province; approximately 15 miles south of Chu Lai. SP4 Warren Cunningham (Lynchburg, Virginia), grenadier, Company A, lights cigarettes for some of the men who were found in a village during the operation NARA 111-CCV-383-CC45921
