Description
English: A US Navy F/A-18C Hornet assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron One Four Seven (VFA-147) catches the arresting gear wire, while landing on board the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS NIMITZ (CVN 68). VFA-147 is part of Carrier Air Wing Nine (CVW-9) embarked on Nimitz. The Nimitz and her air wing are currently on a scheduled deployment in support of UN sanctions, enforcing the southern No-Fly Zone over Iraq. Operation Southern Watch, Persian Gulf.
