Description
English: The U.S. Navy destroyer escort USS Roy O. Hale (DE-336) underway in the Atlantic Ocean on 4 June 1944. Roy O. Hale had just departed the Norfolk Naval Operating Base, virginia (USA) in company with the escort carrier USS Card (CVE-11), USS Dale W. Peterson (DE-337) and USS Broome (DD-210), heading for Newport, Rhode Island (USA). The photo was taken from the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga (CV-14) which had been commissioned on 8 May 1944.
