A burgee command pennant of the U.S. Navy. These indicate command of a division of ships other than aircraft carriers or cruisers, or a major subdivision (command of larger units, like squadrons, use a
broad pennants
). The number of the specific unit is placed on it. This type of pennant has a long history; see

The pennant shown is that of Destroyer Division 95, from World War II in the Pacific. One of the ships in the division was the
USS Abbot (DD-629)
