Description
English: The U.S. Military Sealift Command fleet ocean tug USNS Sioux (T-ATF-171) tows the Royal Canadian Navy replenishment oiler HMCS Protecteur (AOR 509). Protecteur suffered a fire and breakdown 340 nautical miles northeast of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (USA). She was moving at limited speeds and the U.S. Navy ships USS Michael Murphy (DDG-112), Chosin , and USNS Sioux (T-ATF-171) were dispatched to assist, with the Sioux later towing Protecteur to Hawaii after Chosin ´s rope broke.
