English: The Trans-Australian train ready to depart for Kalgoorlie soon after a frosty dawn at Cook railway station in South Australia . Locomotives GM36 and GM22, respectively built in 1962 and 1966, are at the head end. The train at that time was operated by Australian National (AN) and the leading locomotive is in AN livery; the second loco is in the livery of the Commonwealth Railways, which had been absorbed into AN 11 years earlier.
