Summary
Description Tram track at Haymarket, Edinburgh.JPG |
English:
The view west along the
Haymarket Yards siding
on the
Edinburgh Trams
system. At this stage the system was in the final few months of testing. This is the first part of the permanent way section, and is the location of the only siding on the main line. The siding itself is connected to the eastbound track (on the right), but the single crossovers beyond either end of it, both of which are visible in this shot, mean it's also usable by westbound trams. The two signals in view are for the points which connect the siding to the eastbound track - the nearest is showing 'turn left', the furthest is showing 'stop', which indicates that the set path is the main line.
