Description
English: The parish church of St Mary the Virgin, Leigh , Greater Manchester , England straddles the boundaries of two of the ancient townships that made up the ancient parish. The old townships were Westleigh and Pennington. There has been a church on this site for several hundred years but the present church dates from the 1870s. The tower is older and has a peel of eight bells.
