Description
English: Near solar minimum, the point of minimum activity during the Sun's 11-year activity cycle, helmet streamers appear confined to the heliographic equation in what is referred to as the streamer belt . This image was taken by SOHO's LASCO C2 coronagraph on 1996/04/09 at 15:18 UT, near the solar minimum between solar cycles 22 and 23. Courtesy of SOHO/LASCO consortium.
