Die als Eisenkonstruktion ausgeführte 17 m hohe Aussichtswarte wurde vom Österreichischen Touristenklub errichtet und anlässlich des fünfzigjährigen Regierungsjubiläum des Kaisers 1898 feierlich als „Kaiser-Franz-Joseph-Warte“ eröffnet. Im Jahr 1932, anlässlich des 70. Geburtstages von Franz Eduard Matras , Präsident des Österreichischen Touristenklubs, wurde sie in Matraswarte umbenannt. |
