English: Royal Regiment of Scotland soldiers working hard in support of Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.Around 100 soldiers from The Highlanders, 4th Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland were deployed in support of Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) on Saddle worth Moor in the summer of 2018 after wildfires broke out across a wide area of the moors.The soldiers worked with the firefighters to bring the fire under control by digging ditches and‘breaks’ to hold back the flames.4th Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland were at the time part of the UK standby Battalion, based in Catterick.
