Ross_tartan,_modern,_tiling.png

Summary

Description
English: The current (since 1886) main Clan Ross tartan, in the "modern" colour palette. This image is extactly full-sett (though staggered a bit from the thread count beginning, to show the pattern better) and can be tiled horizontally and vertically (it also upscales nicely to 200% to better show the weave, though it is not entirely photorealistic). Scottish Register of Tartans notes on this pattern: "This sett first appeared in Grant [1886] (No 62) and was then repeated by W. & A. K. Johnston in 1906, compounding possible errors by earlier illustrators, including Logan and MacIan [1843–1849]. J. Grant, The Tartans and the Clans of Scotland , 1886." [1] There are quite a number of other Ross tartans. [2] SRT-provided thread count: B 36 R4 B36 R36 G4 R8 G4 R36 G36 R4 G36 R4 G36 R36 B2 R2 B4 R2 B2 R 36 (or /B36 R4 B36 R36 G4 R8 G4 R36 G36 R4 G36 R4 G36 R36 B2 R2 B4 R2 B2 R36/ in slash-notation).
