English: The Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse in Charlotte , the northernmost neighborhood of Rochester , New York . Built in 1822, the light tower is 40 feet tall. It was deactivated in 1881. It was saved from destruction in 1965 and is now a museum operated by a nonprofit agency for Monroe County . It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places .
