La importancia de este resto fósil radica en que es la única muestra a nivel mundial que se tiene del famosísimo depredador de la antigüedad: Livyatan. Se dice que este animal prehistórico vivió en el mismo tiempo que el megalodón. Un dato interesante es la dieta de este depredador, el cual consistía en ballenas prehistóricas.
