Summary
Description Qarawiyyin Mosque Bab al-Ward door fragments DSCF8587.jpg |
English:
Original bronze overlay fragments from Bab al-Gana'iz, the southwestern gate of the Qarawiyyin Mosque in Fez, which led into the Jama' al-Gana'iz or "funeral mosque". These originals date from the Almoravid era. They were kept at the Dar Batha Museum in Fez, but here they are displayed at the Dar Bacha in Marrakesh, probably because Dar Batha was under restoration.
