Diagram showing British QF 3 pounder Common Lyddite Shell Mark V. N.T. (Night Tracer), 1914. Intended for Naval service.
Length 6.59 inches, diameter 1.842 inches. Weight filled & fuzed 3 1/2 lb.
Bursting charge 4 oz 4 drams Lyddite . Exploder 3 drams Trotyl (TNT) in a vulcanised cashmere bag within an asbestos paper cylinder between fuze and Lyddite, to amplify the fuze's spark and explode the Lyddite.
Fuze D.A. Impact No. 19A.
The base is thickened and threaded for an external Night Tracer, not shown fitted.
