Levels of progesterone (ng/mL) following administration of a single 25, 50, or 100 mg vaginal progesterone suppository in 35 ovulating premenopausal women. The women were in the follicular phase of the menstrual cycle, between days 7 to 10. Maximal progesterone levels for the 25, 50, and 100 mg doses were 7.27 ± 2.8 ng/mL, 8.84 ± 3.14 ng/mL, and 9.82 ± 9.8 ng/mL, respectively. The assay method used for measuring progesterone levels was radioimmunoassay.
