Summary

Description
English: Levels of progesterone measured with radioimmunoassay (RIA) after a single oral dose of 200 mg micronized progesterone in oil-filled capsules (Utrogestan) with or without food in postmenopausal women.

C max levels of progesterone were 13.4 ± 3.6 ng/mL for the fasting condition and 69.5 ± 31.0 ng/mL for the with-a-meal condition. T max values were 2.7 ± 2.2 hours and 3.1 ± 2.7 hours, respectively. AUC 0–24 levels were 91.5 ± 11.8 ng•h/mL and 182.5 ± 38.9 ng•h/mL, respectively. Peak levels of progesterone were increased by 5-fold and total exposure levels by 2-fold with food relative to a fasting state.
