The Passover Seder Among Portuguese Jews. Inscription: 1. A Dish containing a Shoulder bone of Lamb, and a hard Egg 2. A Dish of bitter Herbs 3. A Dish consisting of Figs, Apples, Almonds, Mace, &c. hashed & boiled all together representing ye manner of their making Bricks in Egypt 4. Sauce for ye bitter Herbs 5. Half a Levitical [Levite] Cake which ye Master of each family breaks & distributes among ye guests NB. On this occasion all ye Jewish servants are included 6. A Napkin, which covered ye cake 7. Plat ou sont les Figues, Pommes, Amandes, Cannelle etc hachées et cuites ensemble représentant la matière dont ils faisaient les Briques en Egypte. 4. Plat avec la Sauce pour tremper les Herbes Amères. 5. moitié du Gateau Levites, dont le Père de famille rompt des morceaux, qu'il distribue à tous ceux qui sont à table NB tous les Domestiques Juifs sont à la même Table avec lui. 6.Serviette sous laquelle le Gateau a été caché. 7. Panier ou sont les Matsot, ou Pain de Paques.
