Summary
Description Parliament House Melbourne, 1890 Mitchell Library ref PXE 800 photo 33b.jpg |
English:
The image is a photo I took in 2014 of a monochrome print in the New South Wales State Library (Mitchell Library ref PXE 800 photo 33b). The subject is the Victorian Parliament, in Melbourne Australia -- a large classical collonaded building with a 4-wheeled phaeton carriage (with 2 people on board) at the front and another person (a policeman?) standing nearby. On the far left are a horse and carriage, and some people, partly obscured by a diagional white band (a photo mount). The print is captioned on its mounting: "Parliament House -- Melbourne as at present -- 1890."
