AFGHANISTAN. Trousers (460 cm wide) shown on this plate are not even the widest worn in Afghanistan. They are fitted in folds to the waist by a knitted silk band. They are usually of white muslin or shirting material. But blue striped cotton stuffs are also used. Original in a private collection.
