Built before the beginning of the 20th century the Necker Building housed the funeral business of William Necker. The home office at Bergenline and Main in Union Hill (now 43rd Street in Union City, NJ) housed a crematory, casket trimming department, a monument department, a floral department, and a dress-making department, as well as serving as the local morgue. The funeral "parlour" was located nearby on 45th Street and is still in operation as Necker-Sharpe.
