Notes | Excavation works conducted in Masłomęcz, Hrubieszów district in 1977 revealed a group of Gothic settlements and cemeteries from the Roman Period (the end of the 2nd – the end of the 4th century AD), resulting in the term Masłomęcz group being coined. The Masłomęcz grave is one of 536 graves from Goth cementery. Around the middle of the 3rd century AD a woman was buried with grave goods in a deep grave pit, in a coffin made from a hollowed-out oak tree. After some time a man was buried there too. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
