Description

One of six Martin P3M-2 flying boats built for the U.S. Navy. It is pictured in front of a hangar along the sea wall at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida (USA).

The Martin P3M-2 was a production version of a Consolidated design, powered by two 525 horsepower Pratt & Whitney R-1690-32 engines and featuring an enclosed cockpit. Never meeting with much success operationally, they served primarily in the training role.
