Description Male Tiger Ranthambhore.jpg |
Another shot of T12, the magnificent male tiger shot at Sultanour in Zone 1, Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve. Ranthambhore in Sawai Madhopur District of Rajasthan is arguably, the best place to spot tigers. I feel it is certainly one of the best, if not the very best place for photographing tigers in the wild. June is probably an unthinkable time of the year for the uninitiated to think of visiting the desert state of Rajasthan, but the cognoscenti prefer to brave the scorching sun because the scarce availability of water narrows down the 'beat' of a tiger. The prey, the hunter and of course, the photographer gather around the few 'water holes'. |
