Joseph Medill McCormick, head-and-shoulders portrait, facing front" Joseph Medill McCormick (1877–1925), was a member of the influential Chicago McCormick family as well as the Medill family. He was elected to the Illinois House of Representatives in 1912 (when this photo was taken), US House in 1917, and US Senate in 1919. After losing the nomination in 1925, he comitted suicide.
