Description Jefferson and his generals (cropped).jpg |
English:
Lithograph of Jefferson Davis and his Generals by Goupil (c. 1861)
From
Smithonian Webpage
: One of the first prints of the Confederate military, this lithograph was issued by the French firm of Goupil in 1861. It included many officers whose prominence would quickly fade. The figures are (left to right) Leonidas Polk, John B. Magruder, Thomas J. Simmons, George N. Hollins, Benjamin McCulloch, Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, P. G. T. Beauregard, Sterling Price, Joseph E. Johnston, and William J. Hardee. (Note: Thomas J. Simmons may not be correct, he wasn't a general at this time.)
