THE JOHN DRINKER HOUSE IS NO LONGER STANDING. THE ROOF DETERIORATED AND CAUSED THE HOUSE TO COLLAPSE. THE SITE IS SHOWN ON THIS PICTURE AS A DEPRESSION IN THE GROUND. JOHN DRINKER BUILT THE HOUSE IN 1815. HE WAS A QUAKER PORTRAIT ARTIST FROM PHILADELPHIA. THE HOUSE WAS REPUTED TO BE USED ON THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD

THE SITE OF THE HOUSE IS ON A FARM TODAY AND THE LADY OF THE FARM WAS GRACIOUS ENOUGH TO LEAD ME TO THE SITE WHICH OTHERWISE WOULD NOT FOUND.
