Summary
Description Inbound train blocking Route 62 while stopped at North Wilmington August 2021.jpg |
English:
An inbound MBTA Commuter Rail Haverhill Line train blocks Route 62 while stopped at North Wilmington station in August 2021. This occurrence, which happens with almost all inbound trains and a few outbound trains, has been the source of criticism because Route 62 is the only main thoroughfare in this section of Wilmington, and therefore stopped trains have been responsible for delayed emergency response times, among other things. The MBTA has discussed relocating the station further north up the line away from the level crossing, and had set aside funding for the project, but the project has been indefinitely postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
