Também conhecida por Igreja de N. S. do Livramento e de S. José, classificada como Monumento Nacional, foi construída em memória do atentado sofrido por D. José I, em 1758, da responsabilidade da família Távora, e do qual o rei escapou ileso. Iniciada em 1760, segundo projeto do arquiteto italiano Giovanni Carlo Bibienna, concluída por Mateus Vicente de Oliveira. Em 1923 foram transladados para esta Igreja os restos mortais de Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo, marquês de Pombal, falecido em 8 de Maio de 1782.
