Hurricane Hilary of the 2023 Pacific hurricane season shortly after the sun rose upon it while paralleling the western coast of Mexico. It was at its peak intensity as a Category 4 major hurricane when the Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) acquired this image aboard NOAA's GOES-16 satellite on August 18, 2023. It had 1-min sustained winds of 145 mph (235 km/h) and an official minimum central pressure of 939 mbar (27.7 inHg) at the time this image was captured.
