Hermaphroditus asleep. Greek marble, Roman copy from the Imperial Era (2nd century CE) after a Greek original, now at the Louvre, Paris (purchased in 1807). The mattress (Carrara marble) was sculpted in 1619 by Gianlorenzo Bernini, commissioned by Cardinal Scipion Borghese.

Ermafrodito dormiente, copia romana di originale greco. Epoca imperiale, sec.II d.C. Il materasso è stato scolpito e aggiunto da Gianlorenzo Bernini su commissione del cardinale Scipione Borghese. Fino al 1807 fece parte della Collezione Borghese, poi nel 1807 fu ceduto a Napoleone, che lo destinò al Museo del Louvre, dove si trova tuttora.
