Summary
Description HD.8A.009 (11326097983).jpg | The nation's first joint Government-industry experiment under the AEC's Plowshare Program, to investigate the feasibility of using nuclear explosions to exploit natural resources. The explosive was detonated in a New Mexico natural gas-bearing formation to create a rubble-filled cavity from which, it is expected, the gas can be withdrawn at a much increased production rate. The Gasbuggy site is some 55 miles east of Farmington, New Mexico. |
