Facts 1. The Government College University is one of the largest university located in the downtown, Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. 2. Its alumni includes two Nobel Prize laureates Abdus Salam & Har Gobind Khorana, As well as philosopher, poet Muhammad Iqbal, World Court President Muhammad Zafarullah Khan. 3. Four prime ministers of Pakistan are from GCU. 4. Poets / Writers: Patras Bukhari, Manto, Faiz Ahmad Faiz & many more. 5. It was founded in 1864 by Gottlieb Wilhelm Leitner. 6. The GCU secured its second place by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in 2013. 7. It is a solace for middle class and accommodates almost 11000 students, with highest 95% graduation rate. 7. MOTTO: Courage To Know. 8. Elevated to University in 2002. |
