Description Fürstbistum Osnabrück 1642.jpg |
English:
Map of the Prince-Bishopric of Osnabrück published in 1642. The map is dedicated to the ruling prince-bishop, Franz Wilhem von Wartenberg (in cartouche center right). The coat of arms of that prince-bishop (seen top right) combined the coat of arms of Osnabrück (the wheel) and that of the counts of Wartenberg (the Palatinate lion). The insert, bottom right, shows the district of Reckenberg, an exclave located to the southwest of the prince-bishopric. Map engraved by von Gigas and published by Janssonius in 1642.
