English: FRANKLIN INN; CIRCA 1750 HOME OF SEA CAPTAIN MICAJAH SMITH. IT WAS OPERATED AS A TAVERN BY HIS DAUGHTER AND SON-IN-LAW AND WAS PROBABLY NAMED FOR GOVERNOR FRANKLIN, A FREQUENT VISITOR. THE BRICK PORTION WAS BUILT IN 1815.
