Summary

Description

According to the Whistler Blackcomb website, this power station produces enough power to match the total annual energy consumption at Whistler Blackcomb.

The project returns the power it generates back to the grid, essentially replacing what Whistler Blackcomb takes from the grid. It is a run-of-river project that produces 33 gigawatt hours of hydro electricity per year – the equivalent of powering the ski resort’s winter and summer operations including 38 lifts, 17 restaurants, 270 snowguns and other buildings and services.
