English: SHG radiation pattern in forward (F) and backward (B) from different dipoles arangment: (a) single dipoles, thus F = B ; (b) a small stack of dipoles, so F > B ; (c) a substantial stack of dipoles (with a different orientation in both edges of the focal volume), so F >> B ; (d) the Gouy phase-shift cancels the SHGs from the upper and lower part of the focal volume, because the dipoles are oriented in the same direction: F&B are weak
