Ezra_Pound_in_1958,_with_Usher_Burdick_3.jpg

Description
English: Wire photo of American expatriate poet Ezra Pound, 1958, with Senator Usher Burdick. Uncredited.
"Pound Visits Congressman -- Poet Ezra Pound, left, 72, chats with Rep. Usher Burdick (R-ND), 78, during a call at the recently-married congressman's residence yesterday. Burdick, whose injured left arm is in a sling, helped end the bearded poet's 12-year confinement in a mental hospital. Pound is expected to return to Italy, where he lived for 40 years, now that a treason indictment against him has been dismissed and the way cleared for him to leave St. Elizabeths Hospital here."
