English:
Pictured is the cabin of the new RAF Embraer Phenom 100 which is taking over the multi-engine aircrew training duties of the King Air B200 and B200GT.
Operated by 45(R) Squadron, under the command of No. 3 FTS. They run the Multi Engine Advanced Flying Training (MEAFT) course for pilots, whilst simultaneously training Non-Commissioned Aircrew (NCA) rear-crew for Fixed Wing, Rotary and ISTAR roles throughout the RAF. Student pilots undertake Ground School studies before beginning simulator-based training alongside the flying syllabus. Since 2004 the Squadron have used the Beechcraft B200 King Airs operated by Serco. The Phenom is a 5th Generation aircraft, bringing in automation and the Glass Cockpit environment, which allows the student exposure to the technology prior to flying the RAF's more complex aircraft such as the A400 Atlas or Voyager. Embraer announced its intention to develop an entry-level business jet in May 2005, beginning the flight test campaign of the unusual Phenom 100 with the prototype’s first flight on July 26, 2007. Initially classified as a Very Light Jet, the Phenom was intended for owner-pilot operation, by a single pilot, and therefore featured extremely comprehensive avionics fit. The cockpit has two seats nonetheless, and the aircraft is capable of taking as many as seven passengers, with cabin access via an air stair door enabling a degree of independence from ground support equipment.
