Historical marker for the trolley stop of the
Northport Traction Company
on Vernon Valley Road at the Northport LIRR station in
East Northport, New York
. The station is along the
Port Jefferson Branch
, which was expanded east of Greenlawn, and after the abandonment of the
Northport Branch
to freight in 1899, the trolley line began here and ran into
Northport Harbor
from 1902 to 1924.
