Summary
Description Dunedin City recycling bins, New Zealand, March 2011.JPG |
English:
Kerbside collection recycling bins and rubbish bags for the
Dunedin City Council
in New Zealand, in March 2011.
The yellow-lidded 240-litre wheelie bin (left) is for plastic bottles and containers 1-7, steel and aluminium cans, paper and cardboard. The blue 45-litre bin (centre) is for glass bottles and jars. The yellow-lidded wheelie bin and the blue bin are put out for collection on alternating weeks. Recycling collection is "free" as it is paid through the householder's rates bill and remuneration from the recyclables collected. Non-recyclable household waste is collected in official council plastic rubbish bags (right), collected weekly. Rubbish collection is user-pays, with the collection charges incorporated into the purchase price of the bag. |
