Deutsch:
Das
Kölner Dreigestirn
2005
English:
The 'Trifolium' (trefoil, or cloverleaf), or representatives of the Cologne Carnival, are the three characters of the Prince, the Peasant and the Virgin. The Prince is the prince of the carnival itself, the Peasant represents the wealth and the defensive strength of the city of Cologne, whilst the Virgin symbolises the virtue and beauty of the city.
In this photograph for the 2005 carnival, the Trifolium are drawn from members of the festival club Kölnische Karnevalsgesellschaft 1945 e.V. (from left to right)
