George Albert Rodman, originally from Ulverstone, built the 1923 Hall in Derby in the early 1900s. Married to Ada, they had nine surviving children out of 11. He constructed the hall for £1,200, allocating £300 for furniture. Opening on July 12, 1923, the event drew over 350 attendees, featuring musical performances by the Branxholm Orchestra. Rodman passed away in Scottsdale in 1962 at the age of 87.
