On the other side of the street, level with the statue of Columbus is the sign of the Tichenor-Grand company which sold horses and carriages in the new 7-storey building dating from 1906, as well as providing accommodation for 300 horses. Immediately below and behind the sign was a huge double-height rooftop equestrian arena where horse shows took place.
